My first ever public poem entry, I hope you guys like them.

Steam
Slowly but surely it rises,
Never the straight path, there's always compromises
Drifted by the air
Taken with no care
it rises.
Your Smile
How do you react to a smile?
Do you smile back?
When I see you smile, it makes it harder to relax
When my brain shuts off, all that's left is emotion
Your smile brings me to a place where I leave the notion......
To Think.
The Audacity
You have some Audacity to love me
Offended by your attention
Don't hug, kiss or touch me
Disgusted by the glare in your eyes
How can you love me
You have some audacity to see me
Don't see me as beauty,Not until you leave me
I don't want to love you
You're Translucent
I don't need to know you
I can understand you with your eyes
I just want to show you
You're clearer than California skies
The goal isn't to expose you, it's to expose myself
Exploit my own feelings to complement your wealth
In a car full of smoke, I see you the best
All you saw from me was the burn in my chest
My pockets empty, just lint and a penny
Your smile fills my soul like Forrest did Jenny
It's not the physical essence,
Don't chase it like a mile
You're translucent I can't see you,
but I can always feel your smile
Oppress Me
The soul of the oppressed, live forever
(So Oppress me)
My skin is too tough for you just like leather
(So Oppress me)
Feel the whips like a slave, I feel no pain
(So Oppress me)
I have the DNA of a gay, black, Muslim, woman embedded in my veins
(So Oppress me)
Me against the world,
trust me I don't mind
The struggle helps me,
On my road to divine
Not the path that caused the colonization,
But the path that led to my emancipation
The oppressed, are the most free.
Mama
Why'd you kick me out mama ,I love you unconditional
I know money's important but you not understanding my visuals
You made my spirit free,
Envoking me,
Provoking me
Promoting me
Soaking me,
...in tears don't do this mama
Schools not for me mama,
The streets not for me mama
Rules not for me mama
Black’s not for me mama
White's not for me mama
Contract back to me mama
I'm just being the spirit you raised,
I'm trying to find me
I'm trying to find your praise
Don't let me go mama
Tough Love
I hate tough love,
Don't watch my struggle
I do it all for you
You still nag rebuttals
Can tough be tender
Can I just surrender
I don't want a lesson
I just want my blessing
Show me soft love
lift my spirits like a loft,
I need your uplifting love
Read between my lines,
Like Jesus on the cross
Death is beauty
Dark and mysterious was all I ever wanted
How am I breathing yet my spirit is Haunted
Haunted with unwanted memories
Don't visit me at home, visit me at my grave
Stone heart, I'm good as dead
Cold heart, vitals were never checked
Bold heart, I sacrificed it all
Old heart, If I take my life can I still be sanctified?
My death will be beautiful
My death will be full of creativity and innovation
No explanations, No connotations
The purest form of art is birth and death
To live is to follow those until regret
Give me what I'm promised,
I want death.
